Escape from Bordeaux into the Dordogne Valley on an overnight “bikepacking” ride across to Sarlat. Expect to discover the spectacular and authentic landscapes, vineyards, gravel tracks, and single-track roads, the finest cafes, and pubs, fire-side food, and nightcaps at our overnight stopover… of one of the most beautiful regions of France.
The tour highlighted below is carefully designed by myself to emphasize three things: the deliciousness of the food; the richness of this region’s history and culture.
Route:
Day 1: Bergerac – Limeuil
Depart from Bergerac train station. Ride along the Dordogne river. Sporty ride but you’ll be rewarded with beautiful landscapes and breathtaking views. Arriving in Limeuil you can swim in the Dordogne river. Limeuil is considered one of the most beautiful villages in France where we will stop to regain strength.
Day 2: Limeuil – Sarlat Cadenat
A day through mountains and valleys. After a few kilometers from Limeuil, you arrive at Eyzies-de-Tatayac, the world capital of prehistory, the city of Cro-Magnon man. You’ll cycle through the beautiful valleys along the region. This area leaves you an impression of the Middle Ages and pretty villages with slate roofs, you’ll reach Sarlat, a medieval jewel.

Découvrir Bordeaux de cette façon quand on ne reste qu'un w-e est idéal. Nous étions 4 contrairement au concurrent avec un groupe d'une vingtaine de personnes.
